I can hardly believe it, but our Rach turned 17 in June! We had her birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse this year, thats her fave place to eat lately (Shrimp!!) We had her grandparents, her siblings, cousin Rebekah, her boyfriend, his family, and her best friend. We had a great time!

They made her sit up on the saddle while they sang to her. She was so embarassed but it was hilarious!

She added some of her little sanrio figurines on her cake. She likes collecting little figures this year

Rachel and her sweet boyfriend, Bryant. They've been dating since December

Bryant's family.. they are great people and very involved with the band!

Rach and her Grandma Guynell

I jumped in a picture too!

Rachel and her best friend Hadleigh. She plays trumpet in the band also!

Beautiful flowers she got from Bryant

This is the tree my mother in law planted in our backyard after Rachel was born. We've taken pics with her in front of it as she has grown over the years :)

MY YEARLY LETTER TO RACHEL:

Dear Rachel,

I have enjoyed watching you grow and mature over the past year. You recently finished your junior year in highschool. You are so smart.. you were in some AP classes this year. I guess you got that from me ;) You had your first job, working at Pelican's snoballs. You went to your first prom. Going out to shop for the dress with you, watching you get ready and take pics, all of that was one of my biggest highlights of my year. You looked so beautiful. Sometimes i get emotional because you are my baby, the last one of my kids, and I know this will be a series of "lasts" Ill get to do with a child, so Im trying my very best to enjoy and soak in every minute. You have started dating, which made me nervous at first, but I am so happy you found a great guy who is good to you. I have watched you grow and come out of your shell thanks to band. Im so glad you have that community of people there for you, you are learning teamwork and lots of good life skills, and I know these people will remain good friends with you in the future. You have always been my independent free thinker, and you are still like that. I gave in and let you dye your hair and get a nose piercing. And while it might not be the things I WOULD do personally, it suits you. I love that you are confident in who you are, and don't let anyone bring you down. I could take lessons from you in that! You are silly, full of life, and loyal to the ones you care about. I am looking forward to seeing where you decide to go to college and what you do with your careeer and life ahead. Senior year is almost here, and I'm ready for a season of fun times, memories, and probably lots of tears from your mama! Even if the teen years are tough and sometimes we dont agree or things get tense, I hope you know that your mama always loves you and is so proud of you. You can always come to me for anything and I'll be there in the best way I know how. I love you my sweet woodchuck.

Love, Mama
