~MY LETTER TO CALEB~

Dear Caleb,

I can't believe we are already here, to 14. Just yesterday I was watching you run around and chase after your sister. You held onto my leg and cried on the first day of school, not wanting to go in. And now you are so much older and braver. This year you finally caught up to me in dad and height. We always knew you would hit at least 6 ft one day! Everyone who meets you and gets to know you has the nicest things to say. Your teachers always let me know that you're one of their best students and always willing to help out. They put you with new students often, to help them get used to the new school. Your grandma very much enjoys spending her special time with you. Every month she takes you to the same hair place as her and you both get haircuts and she gets to talk to you in the car, and sometimes get you lunch. We are all trying not to take these days for granted, because we know soon enough you will grow up and leave the house. Even though you are the most like me, and always hesitant to try new things, I've been so proud of how much you've come out of your shell the past year. You started going to youth group with your sisters. You also decided to sign up for JRROTC in the fall. As of now, you have dreams to go into the military. As much as that would worry me and I would miss you, I would be so very proud. These days you are all about video games, as most kids your age are. You stay up way too late and are grumpy in the mornings (again, just like me!!) Everywhere we go you are so polite to people, you always hold doors for people at stores and restaurants. You always help out with chores and things around the house, without us having to ask twice. And you are protective over Rachel, which I love to watch. I think having sisters will make you much more sensitive of a man and one day you'll make a very lucky lady an awesome husband. But I don't want to think about that just yet! Right now I am happy knowing you are right down the hall, in your bedroom, playing with Max and yelling at your tv screen. Love you bunches and bunches Bobo :)
